A Great Project: Renovate Your Kitchen

You will always find me in the Kitchen at Parties! That line is relevant to so many of us. The kitchen is a great place for friends and family to hang out and I believe that a good home must have a great kitchen.
A kitchen should be warm, inviting, practical and user-Friendly. It is worth the effort designing and remodelling a fantastic kitchen.
When you decide that you want a kitchen makeover, make a list of what you want from your kitchen. Many people want a change but often dont know what they want to change (Something is not right but cant pinpoint what exactly) and they end up making a big mistake and tearing out the entire kitchen and replacing it. This is very expensive and can be avoided with some thought and planning.
Think first how you can make small, inexpensive renovations so that your kitchen feels fresher. Repair and replace what is shabby or broken. eg tiles, light switches, power points, cupboard doors, taps. Remain within a pre set budget. Dont rip out anything before you know how much it will cost to replace it.
If you dont want or cant afford to renovate the entire kitchen all at once you could start on one part like the floor or counter tops. Later on you could address the cabinet doors and handles….. and so on until your kitchen is complete. If you do it this way be careful not to change styles too much along the way as you might end up with a mish mash looking kitchen. Stick to the original plan.
All renovations increase the value of your home so you should see this as an investment rather than an unnecessary expense. Making a kitchen user-friendly and practical is very important, you won’t put off buyers when you want to sell your house someday.
